Empowering Women Through Service and Advocacy
International
Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, Zonta International has grown to more than 30,000 members in more than 1,200 Clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas.
Zontians throughout the world volunteer their time, expertise, and support to local and international service and advocacy programs: and award and scholarship programs designed to fulfill Zonta International's mission and objectives.
District
District 9 was established in 1929 and includes Arizona, California, Hawai`i, Nevada and Utah. We have more than 500 members in 25 clubs in the district. Throughout our history, District 9 Zontians have been active at the club, district, and international level. Our Zontians have served as international directors, committee chairs, members and five as Zonta International President. We continue to be major contributors to the Zonta International Foundation.

Zonta District 9 San Jose Conference 2015
Welcome to Zonta International District 9.
As we celebrate our centennial anniversary our goal remains the same - to achieve equality of women and men world-wide.
During the 2018-2020 biennium, District 9 leaders and members will focus on “Honoring the Past – Empowering the Present – Shaping the Future”. This is a special time; as we bridge Zonta International from her first century to the next, we will enable young women to assume leadership roles and levels of responsibility that will move the local and international communities forward. The goal to achieve equality of women and men is as relevant today as it was 100 years ago.
Together, we will make Zonta strong for tomorrow.
If you are passionate about taking a stand for equality, advocating for sustainable change and achieving global impact through local action, then we invite you to contact the club nearest you to join us in our efforts to develop future agents of change toward equality.
